Members of the CTSA Board of Directors bring a wealth of experience related to sports in all capacities in a variety of venues. The board consists of nine members who represent CTSA’s 10 member organizations.
Ron Stratten (rstratten@ncaa.org), (chair) Vice-President of Education Services for the National College Athletic Association (NCAA), who oversees the education outreach, professional development, sports sciences and youth program staffs for the association.
Mike Cleary (mcleary@nacda.com), Executive Director of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), is the only executive director in the history of the association. Cleary oversees the professional and educational services NACDA provides to its over 6,100 athletics administrators and 1,750 institutions/organizations.
Nadine Glinski (nglinski@nba.com), Director, Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA for the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), which serves existing recreational youth basketball leagues with support programs for players, coaches, parents and officials.
John Halligan (jhalligan@nhl.com), Director of Communications and Special Projects for the National Hockey League (NHL), previously held a variety of public relations, communications and administrative positions with the New York Rangers.
Elliot Hopkins (ehopkins@nfhs.org), Director of Educational Services for the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), is a retried Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association basketball official. He is the NFHS Baseball Rules Editor and also supervises the National Resource Center.
Rob Miller (rmiller@naia.org), Director of the Champions of Character Initiatives at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), leads the association’s pioneering effort to change the culture of sport through its highly successful character program.
JoAnn Rust, (drrust@cox.net), Vice-President (Women) at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), and is the retired Division Dean for Education and Director of Athletics at Pima County Community College in Tucson, Arizona.
Jimmie Lee Solomon (jimmielee.solomon@mlb.com), Executive Vice-President for Baseball Operations for Major League Baseball (MLB) and former Executive Director of Minor League Operations for MLB. Previously, Solomon was a partner with the Washington, D.C., office of Baker & Hostetler, one of the country’s top law firms.
Judith C. Young, Ph.D. (jyoung@aahperd.org), Vice-President of Programs for the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) and former Executive Director of the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) for 12 years. She is responsible for integration and coordination of all AAHPERD programmatic initiatives within the six national associations, including NASPE.
